New technical content on the Polyfoam XPS blog
Since the beginning of the year the newsletter has been looking at EPDs: what they are, and how the life cycle of construction products is assessed, among other things. But we’ve also been writing about other topics, so here’s a round-up.

June sees Part L 2021 take effect in England. We’ve been reading the new Approved Documents and found some interesting guidance on dealing with continuity of insulation.

What we’ve been doing recently
With winter and Covid-19 restrictions now behind us, the construction industry has started to open up again. It’s been great to start seeing people face-to-face again, visiting trade shows, supporting events and delivering CPDs.
Upcoming events include online CPD sessions with Direct Contact Exhibitions, as well as exciting open days that we’re currently planning at our Hartlepool factory. We’ll have more information in future newsletters, or you can keep up to date by following Polyfoam XPS on LinkedIn.

Our Technical and Specification Manager Rob Firman attended both Futurebuild and UK Construction Week, catching up with industry colleagues and finding out about new innovations in the construction sector.
At the end of April, Rob joined our National Sales Manager Phil Hodges and Business Development Manager Gary Ferguson at the CPA Spring Lunch. The Construction Products Association brought together more than 600 people and the lunch was an excellent networking event.
Polyfoam XPS was proud to sponsor the ‘Project of the Year’ category at the LRWA Awards & Gala Dinner, at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. Our team attended the LRWA Technical Committee Meeting at the start of the day, before celebrating the high-quality work of the liquid roofing industry.
